Updating Combat Interfaces, Calme Region and Community Event - 30th August 2023

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another dev update with Mikhail. It is almost September, I hope everyone has been doing well!

This week at Tatsu, we have exciting content to share! Firstly, we have more visual mockups of how combat would flow, and are working on refining the smaller but important details like skill activations.

Secondly, we are revealing the first glimpses of the Calme Region, where modern building structure designs meet fantasy!

Last but not least, we will be organizing a community event series with prizes to be won, so be sure to read until the end for more details!

Revamping Combat UI/UX

While adventuring across the world of Ielia, you will meet various companions and different critters that may be hostile. As such, players must defend themselves against these enemies through combat.

Of course, you do not need to fight alone! Assemble your favorite companions and engage in an active-time battle (ATB), utilizing different skills and abilities to defeat these foes.

We are still mainly conducting internal playtesting, but one of our key objectives of Sandbox 2 is to polish Tatsumeeko’s combat system – both visually in terms of animation and combat interfaces, as well as fine-tuning how combat works (skills and buffs):

Welcome to Calme!

In our previous features of Koriko Palace, we had shown the well-cared for garden that serves as the entryway into the palace. This time, we have more behind-the-scenes concept illustrations to show as Koriko Palace is being put together in Tatsumeeko this month!

Located in the Calme Region, Koriko Palace will be one of the first few places that players get to visit in game. Calme features more modernized building infrastructure but is also surrounded by lush greenery, giving the impression of a quiet but thriving hub area for players.

Calme City Plaza – What kind of shops would fit into these aesthetics?

Home to some important characters of Tatsumeeko’s main story quest, players will be spending a fair amount of time in Calme, exploring and getting to know townsfolk.

Event Announcement

As August comes to a close, we have prepared an upcoming 3-part chain event for the Tatsu fam, with various prizes ranging from Gift Cards, Supporter++ tiers and Meekolony Passes! This 3-part chain event will be held across September, October and November.

Please note that you are required to participate in all of the events consecutively to qualify in winning the prizes! For example, to qualify for October’s event, you must have participated in September’s event.

More information will be released in the Tatsu Lounge Discord server, so be sure to keep an eye out!

Enjoyed this Update?

And that is all for this week’s update!

Dearest Tatsu fam, thank you as always for your continued support for our work!
